Course Description
Objectives
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Appreciate what contract management is? and the skills required for the effective discharge of contract management functions.
- Understand the stages in contract management.
- Establish the linkage between project management and contract management

- Introduction to Contract Management: Definitions of Contract and Contract Management and links to Project Management
- The Contract Structure and Contract Control Rectangle (Time, Quality, Cost and Scope)
- Sources and Types of Risks and Relationship Management in contracts
- Purpose and Elements of a Contract Management Plan including setting of relevant KPIs for monitoring and assessment of vendors’ performance
- Contract Management Plan (CMP) for Goods
- Contract Management Plan for Works and Non-Consulting Services and elaboration of selected issues
- Contract Management Plan for Consultancy Services Contracts
- Requirements to be met for valid claims and common types of claims by Contractors’ and Employers
- Amicable Settlement and Alternative Dispute Settlement Mechanisms
- Taking over Certificate, Defects Liability Period in Works contracts and Contract Close-Out
